Also Academic All District - Johnny Caspers, Conrad Ukropina, Dallas Lloyd.  Don't know why the Stanford release did not mention them as well.

I have never understood exactly how they make these selections.  Clearly, the Pac-12 and the NCAA have different criteria because McCaffrey was first team all-american but only second team all-conference. 

Just glancing at the Pac-12 list, it seems like they may have: (1) started with the pool of all football players with a 3.0+ GPA; (2) cut the pool down to the number that met whatever football criteria they selected; and (3) ordered the first team and second team based solely on numerical GPA.  (Since they don't list the GPAs for honorable mention recipients, it's not clear whether the HM recognition is based purely based on having a lower numerical GPA or whether football criteria figured into that as well.)
