Punter who died in car crash was headed for Stanford Law - needle - 07-25-2016
Had not realized the Stanford connection to this story until tonight. Former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler, killed in a car crash Saturday along with Nebraska punter Samuel Foltz, had been accepted and was planning to enroll at Stanford Law School.
Quote:Sadler told Lansing, Michigan, news station WLNS that he wrote the personal statement of his Stanford Law School application about Michigan State beating Stanford in the 2014 Rose Bowl.
The funny thing was, my personal statement in my application process was actually about beating Stanford in the Rose Bowl, so as soon as they opened that up, they must have been like, Hmm, this could be entertaining for us, so, he told the station in May. So they took a chance, they knew what they were getting, so if I have to wear the Rose Bowl shirt around campus, then I dont think they can really say much, he told the station in May.
A fun little story and a big, big loss.
