Our backup corners - BostonCard - 09-28-2016

This is a great breakdown by RJ Abetya on the Bootleg about our backup corners.

The story itself is behind a paywall, though David Lombardi tweeted two nice nuggets:

Murphy I'm not worried about -- reminds me a bit of Terrence Brown. Alexander I've never quite trusted.

Re: Our backup corners - Row80Critic - 09-29-2016

Calling Murphy and Alexander "backups" just doesn't seem right.  They're both experienced, and I bet they'd both start at a majority of FBS teams, and many PAC-12 teams.  Alexander has had some highs and lows, but was young and has kept improving.  Peterson pretends he isn't concerned who is playing the corners for us, but I bet he goes after them early.  Here's to an early pick-6!!

Yup, play the corners soft shading outside and have the LBs show run defense...and then drop them into coverage to jump those short/intermediate routes!
