WBB: Practice starts; Karlie injured - 81alum - 10-06-2016
Practice for WBB has started and a video has been posted of the first practice.

What I noticed instantly was a cast on the left wrist of....Karlie? It is only a glimpse of her in a couple of spots, but I think it is Karlie. Any of you able to verify that I'm not making a mistake?
In addition, we know about the injury situation as of July directly from Kate. At that point McCall had a knee issue and McPhee had an ankle issue but were expected to be cleared.  Coffee had ankle surgery and might be out for a while. Anna Wilson had the concussion in her McD AA game, and Carrington was still coming back from the torn ACL junior year in high school. And now add a wrist cast on someone....Karlie? A lot of those injuries were from long ago or even planned surgeries and so the hope is most of them will be recovered for practice and the start of competition. However, seeing a player sitting on the side on a bike during the first practice was not a happy sight.
So not only are we eagerly waiting to find out who our recruits for next year will be, we are waiting to find out just how healthy our team will be to start the year. A lot is currently up in the air.

I looked at the video and it is definitely Karlie in the left hand/wrist cast. In one of the shots, you can see the jersey number of the player in the cast and it was #44, which is Karlie's number.
Was that the same wrist she injured at the end of the 2014-15 season?

It is Karlie but her late injury before was broken finger

At least it is her left wrist in the cast.

From what I understand Karlie will be ready for the first game of the season. Her leadership, on and off the court, will always be there.
