So a) congrats to Plum, even though at least 500 of those are because she initiates contact to get herself to the line, she's still one heck of a player and b) did the UW SID never hear of Cheryl Miller, or are they hiding behind the technicality that back then it was the PAC-10?

Or Miller was pre PAC 10.
AAWU or close?

Wasn't she PAC-12 player of the century?

Pac-12 Player of the Century, four times All-Pac 10.
Plum will surpass Miller's career scoring total soon, but the graphic about being the first Pac-12 player to reach 3,000 points is misleading even though it is technically true.

According to Wikipedia: In 1986, the Pac-10 began sponsoring women's athletics. Prior to this time members' women's teams competed with other large universities on the Pacific coast in either the Northern Pacific Conference or the Western Collegiate Athletic Association. I think the PAC 12 uses the records of it's member schools from the pre PAC # days.Â

I don't watch much women's basketball, but every time I see Kelsey Plum, I wonder how she gets away with so much pushing off while on offense. Seems like she loves to bump into the defender to open up space. Is that just me, or do others see that too?

Yes, Terry, hence my quip at the beginning, which is also part of her MO (jumping into defenders to "draw" the foul). But yes, she is very aggressive about creating space for herself. That being said, she is still one hell of a player.

Everyone sees it and it drives us all nuts. Well, that is, everyone but the refs.
