OT: WBC and Sam Fuld -
JJJ - 03-07-2017
It may be a bit obscure, but since All Write Now saw it fit to post about Sam Fuld, and since team Israel is 2-0 after defeating host Korea and Chinese Taipei, I thought I'd link the stories here.

Israel vs Cuba is scheduled to begin in 2 hrs, if you happen to have MLB tv as part of your cable subscription.
Even if you don't, I just learned that they post entire games on youtube afterwards!
Here's Israel vs Netherlands. (I haven't watched it; but just FYI.)

Israel was 3-0 through its first round play (def NED, KOR, TPE). In the second round, they beat CUB on Saturday night but fell today to NED 12-2. They'll play JPN to finish their second round schedule--top two from each group advance to the semifinals, making this a likely win-or-go-home game.
Israel seems to have displaced traditional baseball stalwart South Korea to advance out of the first round (along with NED). No doubt the South Koreans are smarting over that one.Â

Just to bring closure, I watched the Japan-Israel game via DVR. (Japan won 8-3, advancing to the semis along with the Netherlands and eliminating Israel).
I didn't know Sam Fuld was recovering from a rotator cuff injury/surgery. I watched him lace a single to right, advance runners by pulling the ball hard a couple of times, and walking the last time up and scoring team I's first run. I hope he catches on somewhere.
