ditto that. Much as I love women's swimming dominance and curious how the new coach and baseball are getting along, this is mostly a long, dry spell.

March Madness will help for the next few weeks, but then nothing for awhile.

March Madness? If only I cared about basketball - Redrum - 03-17-2017
My interest is limited to: It's good that Stanford plays good basketball. I guess. But Stanford men ain't getting mad in March, so what's the big deal about whether Villanova, Wisconsin or Oregon et all advance to second and third rounds? In fairness, I take the same approach to football. I simply don't care about Oregon St., Michigan, Missouri, and Georgia et all unless or until we play them. The exception is Alabama football, but I was shackled into caring because I married into having to care, and moved into the state.
And, I do follow women's bball if only out of the corner of my eye. Glad that Tara's teams continue to play worthy basketball and her players are true students. Not gripped with excitement, though. Can't stand the fact that the best hope to derail Connecticut is to wish good things for Notre Dame.Â
Not going there. Simply asking too much.

Rowing is about to get going. Anyone in the Bay Area over Easter weekend? There will be racing on Friday and Saturday when putative #1-ranked UW men's crew comes to Redwood Shores to race Stanford, Wisconsin, and Oregon State.

I guess for football fans, having what seems to me is almost continuous coverage is just not enough. (I don't see a football game (replay) on TV until tomorrow afternoon.)
Stanford has won over 100 National Championships. There are LOTS of other highest quality sporting events currently at Stanford. Swimming, Diving, Baseball, Softball, Basketball, Wrestling, Women's Water Polo, Beach Volleyball, Tennis, Sailing, Track, Men's Volleyball, Fencing, Golf. During this and the next couple of weeks, Stanford athletes are participating in NCAA championships in W. Basketball, W Sw&D, M Sw&D, Wrestling, Fencing, Track(Indoor).
For me, I'm frustrated that Stanford (& other) world class athletes won't get exposure from TV coverage of these NCAA championships.   Dry spell???
If one can't sublimate his/her desire for football into enjoying one of these other sports, well, ...
[Edit: There are so many sports.... I missed Women's Lacrosse, Men's and Women's Gymnastics. ]

Great point by MT and others -- Stanford has so many incredible student athletes across so many sports.
I follow women's basketball every year they are in contention to make the final four, which seems like pretty much every year, so I'll be watching them on tv even though I don't know a lot about basketball.
I've never been to a Stanford baseball game, but am planning to take the family at least once this year during #9's final season. My older son went to the Stanford youth baseball camp last summer and had a great experience.
So I appreciate all the amazing programs (I was joking with my wife this evening about how the women's swim team almost seems to have an unfair advantage).
And whenever my kids are interested in a new sport, I try to find a Stanford game on Pac-12 Networks to show them what a great team with great student athletes looks like.
But still, I do miss football. ð
