Stanford sighting at Men's NCAA West regional - Leftcoast - 03-23-2017
The National Champion Stanford men's soccer team and women's volleyball team were honored at half time of the Arizona v Xavier Sweet 16 game. The team and coaches (including soon to be ex-coach Dunning) were brought to half court to show off their hardware and wave to the crowd. I'm not sure why the women's swim team didn't get the same treatment.
Other notable but non-Stanford sightings - Bill Murray (big Xavier fan, the actor), Steve Kerr and Peja Stojakavich.
It turned out to be an exciting night. Both matches were decided in the final seconds. I was surprised to see the talented and athletic Wildcats lose to the smaller, scrappier but seemingly physically overmatched Musketeers. How'd the game look on TV?

Gonzaga looked very beatable and after they won I was pretty happy because I was sure that Arizona wouldn't have much trouble beating them. Then Arizona lost, and my bracket went poof!
Arizona played the worst I've seen them play all year, and Xavier played its best. That happens in March Madness, and it's part of why I love watching it. For much of the second half Arizona looked like they were wearing UCLA jerseys on defense, and they couldn't hit the side of a barn all night.
