Oregon really dominated this game and has the Pac-12 getting lots of respect.
UConn has to go through the Pac-12

UConn handling UCLA pretty routinely. I turned it off about 15 minutes in when I could see UCLA had no chance. UConn looked much more balanced, with talent and skill at all positions, and well coached. But what's new?

UConn had a run late in the 1st and into the 2nd. But then UCLA kept it about even, winning the 3rd quarter. They were within 12 with 3 minutes left in the game, but UCLA couldn't make the run they needed. A clear win by UConn, but a good effort by the PAC-12 fourth place team.
For PAC-12 WBB fans, here's your two hour slot to get things done on Saturday without a PAC-12 game on. Oregon State's game is at 3PM (PDT).

Guess I lost faith too soon. I'm glad to hear UCLA made a decent showing in the rest of the game.

UConns last fg of the game came with 6.17 left in the 4th quarter.
They might be a very tired team, as they only played 6 players.
However, UCLA only had 3 baskets in that same period. They now have 7 months to rest up.
I was reading the UConn Forum board and many of their posters think UCLA was the toughest team they played this season.

Well, I don't know about the respect part. ESPN just has to be ESPN:

OSU jumped out to a 17 point lead over FSU in the first quarter, but then it all fell apart. They ended up losing by about 13, with Wiese going 0-10 from 3-point range as a big part of the problem.

It was so uncharacteristic to see Oregon State really lose their composure down the stretch - they are such a well coached team that you don't expect to see that from them. I have so much respect for Wiese - wish she had gone out on fire instead.

Ugh. The March Madness gods giveth to one Oregon school and taketh away from another. What a disappointing ending for her career. :(

The flow of the game seemed reminiscent of our win over Oregon State in the Pac-12 championship game where the Beavers jumped out to an early lead and commanded the first quarter, but dropped down to Earth over the rest of the game.
After scoring 23 points in the first quarter, they only scored 30 points combined over the last 30 minutes of the game.
Their defense also left them, as FSU only scored 12 points in the opening ten, but managed to put up 18, 16 and 20 in the other quarters.
They needed another scoring option besides Wiese and they couldn't get it. It was unfortunate timing from her to have such a bad shooting day (0/10 from three point range). Orum was the only Beaver who scored in double figures.
On a day where Oregon shocked Maryland and Oregon State faded against Florida State, this might mark the beginning of the reversal of fortunes for these two schools.
I don't think Oregon State will disappear, they still have talent in Pivec, Brown and McWilliams and a good coach in Scott Rueck, but I don't think they'll win the Pac-12 again next year. On the other hand, Oregon loses just two players to graduation and neither of them starters and the returning players will have the confidence and experience of an Elite 8 run with them next year (I think their streak will end against UConn on Monday)

Who is the little guard off the bench on Uconn? When she comes in Uconns passing drops as she is a ball stopper.
