Softball lost Pac-12 season opener to C.al, 1-0 - Mick - 03-25-2017
Lost to C.al today at C.al, the only other unranked team in the Pac-12. Score, 1-0. Both teams had two hits. It was Alumni Day for Ca.l. Game was over in 82 minutes. Jazmyn Jackson hit a fly ball that fell between three confused Stanford players, then got in a rundown between first and second and encouraged Kylie Reed, who scored in the bottom of the fourth on that hit/rundown. Here's Kate T. Scott's interview. You can see this play 30 seconds in:

C.al's catcher is Annie Aldrete, a transfer from Tennessee. She's also Mike Aldrete's niece and daughter of Ca.l alum Rich Aldrete.
It's funny, Jackson is listed as a utility player on C.al's site, but she led the Pac-12 in hits last year with 82.
The 59ers are now 1-3 in league, having lost three straight to Oregon.Â
Good luck tomorrow to the Cardinal. Game is at noon at Ca.l.

That's Mike's niece, Bob. She's the daughter of Rich Aldrete (Mike's brother) who played for C.al's baseball team.

She is the niece and thought I wrote that. I have strange fingers at times
