Shaw says it - OutsiderFan - 03-28-2017

Last night I decided to watch the ESPN3 coverage of Stanford's Pro Day on the Watch ESPN app.  It was co-hosted by Troy Clardy and Tank Williams.  Throughout the two hours they had several former Stanford player guests and David Shaw.

When Shaw was asked about McCaffrey, he said flat out that people have been skeptical about him as a RB because of his skin color.  Not only is Shaw McCaffrey's head coach, he's also a respected former NFL coach who the NFLN believes is credible enough to have on its draft coverage.  Coming from him, those words carry a lot more weight than from clueless fans on message boards feeling the same way, right?

The two legitimate questions: Can be break NFL tackles? And can he pass block?

Some GMs aren't sure.  I love the guy and the impact he had here, but I'm not sure either.

Shaw also specifically pointed out Christian's ability to break arm tackles and get through trash.  Didn't hear him talk about pass protection.

Shaw doesn't play a RB who can't pass protect.  I'm sure he's confident in CMac's pass pro.
