The serial crew's new S-Town podcast - True life documentary of rural Alabama life or dystopian media stereotype/fantasy?
(Is there anyone in the state this week with a worse job than the mayor of Woodstock, Alabama?)

Considering our guvnuh is headed for impeachment because he grooved on his top aid's breasts, waxed lyrical about them and then was stupid enough to text her about it [not that she
objected, at all],
and then tried to knock the legal hounds off his track by appointing the then
state Attorney General (the guy who would investigate him) to fill the vacant U.S. Senate seat lately occupied by Jeff Sessions, our Trump administration's new Attorney General... well, all I can say is whoever is running things in Woodstock, Alabama seems to have all the qualifications to run the entire state.

Alabama politics sounds like popcorn worthy entertainment.Â
I wonder if Charles Barkley still is interested in the Governor's job?Â
Well, considering... - Redrum - 04-03-2017
...that one of the leading, early Republican cadidates is Twinkle Cavanaugh, I would think Barkley might be a refreshing change.

As entertaining as that thought may be Mr Barkley doesn't qualify as a Republican any more. I thought about dropping in his quote on leaving the party but refrained out of respect for the webmistress' ban on political speech.
Let us know the Alabama insider take on S-Town when/if you listen through the seven part series.Â

Just remember: YOU got me started - Redrum - 04-05-2017
...on how bizarre things are down heah. Our own Twinkle Cavanaugh, chair of the Public Services Commission ("regulates" utilities) and her merry crew:
"A spokesman for Alabama Power Co., which has six coal-fired plants in the state, has said it's too soon to know what action the utility would have to take to meet the new standards.
At their news conference today Cavanaugh and PSC commissioner-elect Chip Beeker invoked the name of God in stating their opposition to the EPA proposal. Beeker, a Republican who is running unopposed for a PSC seat, said
coal was created in Alabama by God, and the federal government should not enact policy that runs counter to God's plan.
"Who has the right to take what God's given a state?" he said.
Cavanaugh called on the people of the state to ask for God's intervention.
"I hope all the citizens of Alabama will be in prayer that the right thing will be done," she said.
