Wow! Reuland - Redrum - 04-14-2017

I'm not a big bringer of stuff to the Cardboard from other places, but this story is worth it.

Absolutely worth it. Thanks.

Just...wow....

Thanks for sharing this!

Merc had a shorter story on the same topic:

Truly amazing that the randomness of the universe allows things like this to happen.  I sense an HBO Real Sports story coming.

Great story and great reminder that you too could save someone's life by registering as an organ donor, and, at least as importantly, telling your loved ones that you would like your organs donated should that be a possibility.

This was a great read, thanks, though it should've come with a 6-Kleenex warning.  :)

Re: Wow! Reuland - Phogge - 04-14-2017

With my 6 year old grandson right now. Trying to explain my tears.

Yeah, I didn't mention the tearing-up guarantee - Redrum - 04-14-2017

Should be a sci-fi test to help a besieged humanity distinguish real humans from robots.  Who needs the warning dogs from Terminator if you can just make everyone read that story before you let them in?

LA Times also had a story:

Re: Wow! Reuland - ceece - 04-16-2017

wouldn't it be great to have Rod Carew as an honorary captain at a football game this season? Maybe one where Stanford Hospital is the sponsor, and they could promote organ donation and heart disease screenings at the same time.

Anybody know someone who could help make that happen?

Re: Wow! Reuland - fullmetal - 04-17-2017

Shaw would know about this by now.  Very, very touching story.  I'm out of kleenex at work.
