So, as of right now, the baseball team's success appears to heavily depend on which day they are playing.
Midweek games: 6-0
In conference series game #1 = 0-4
Those Friday games have been killers.

gostanford.com is failing in all three major browsers for me, but iirc, mid-week games are usually against non-conference opponents, right? And Friday games would be against conference opponents fielding their star pitchers...?

Plus we haven't had our Friday pitcher this season. However we have been shut out 4 times on that night or if Thursday

Yes, but ...
As BobK pointed out, presumably those Friday games are with our star pitcher as well ... except that this year our presumed Friday starter hasn't made it back from injury (another example of a player who "should be back anytime" never actually makes it back).
Midweek games are also tricky.
First of all, Stanford plays some pretty good teams mid-week. This year that includes Long Beach and Cal (twice).
Secondly, sometimes a lower level team will take the mid-week game more seriously, and we'll face a pitcher relatively higher in the pecking order than what we send out.
Certainly there have been some years when Stanford's midweek record has been weak - and I think I remember one year that was the key item that kept them out of the tournament.
