Guard play was not a strong suite this past season. Hope that changes,

Here's the NY Post on the commitment:

Seems like a nice get. Haase and staff are good at what they do.

Ha! He goes to my old high school. Even more reason to root for him!
(Can't say we were known as a basketball power in my day, though we were pretty good at wrestling and hockey for a mid-sized prep school.)

scorecard - 06-04-2017
I absolutely love what Haase and the staff is doing in terms of recruiting, despite the academic barriers. I think the model for what he is doing is right across the Bay with the Warriors. He is loading up on players with length and versatility and shooting. On defense, this allows you to switch on screens and picks without giving up so many mismatches. And in this age of the 3 pointer, he knows you have to shoot from the perimeter to compete.
Haase's recruits are in bold
PG: Robert Cartwright (6'2"),
Isaac White (6'1"), Cormac Ryan (6'5")
SG: Dorian Pickens (6'5"), Marcus Sheffield (6'5"),
Daejon Davis (6'4")
SF: Mike Humphrey (6'9"), Cameron Walker (6'7"), Kodye Pugh (6'8"),
Kezie Okpala (6'8")
PF: Reid Travis (6'8"),
Oscar da Silva (6'10")
C: Josh Sharma (7'0"), Trevor Stanback (6'11")
It looks like we only have 2 scholarships for next year after losing Pickens and Humphrey. 247 just had 2 Stanford crystal ball predictions placed for class of 2018 Nate Laszewski, a 6'9" former teammate of Josh Sharma who is known for his jumper as well, and that seems like it would complete the class. Not sure how much of this is accurate, it is just gleaned from free sources.
I sure hope that Travis indeed stays one more year after this one, that could really bring Maples back to life.
Here is some recent footage of Oscar da Silva:

Both Reid Travis and Robert Cartwright will be Srs will a possible redshirt year for their 5th year. So the number of openings could be 2-3-4. Â
Brooks and Fitzmorris are strong possibilies

Humphrey is a ... small forward? He plays C all the way.

IIRC this was Northwestern's top target and would have been their first 4* player. Poor Northwestern. Goes to the Tournament, still gets outrecruited by a Stanford program that did not.

No sympathy for Northwestern after Stanford football had to play an 11am season opener in central time...(yeah, not the Huskies' doing, but still).
