The future is apparently bright. From Will Parchman -- who's the main writer for a soccer recruitnik site -- comes these assessments:

"The benefits of winning two straight national titles: Stanford has four of the top 20 players in the country on the books for 2017."

"There may be flashier coaches, but Stanford's Jeremy Gunn tops my list of guys who could win in MLS immediately regardless of team."

"Gunn's one of the most adaptable coaches I've ever seen. Molded two vastly different rosters in 2015/16 into title-winners."

"It'd be extremely difficult to lure him away, I'm sure. Bet he makes more than a few MLS coaches, too."

The video inspired me to check out the team's incoming recruiting class.  Seven of the nation's top 75 recruits, ahead of North Carolina (4) and Wake (3).

It's also great to see that standout soccer talent in the United States can also have the intellectual chops to make it into Stanford as well.  Long live the student-athlete.
