"David Parry Now a Saint:
I can only hope it was delivered with a keen sense of irony and a wit that plays with his recent most un-saintly arrest that played out on news media sites.

I'm glad he's not dead! According to the stories, a lot of saints engaged in unsavory--or much worse--behavior before they turned their lives around. I'm not quitting David Parry.

The headline was a bit crafted. In any event, it seems that the Saints signed him with eyes open and that he appreciates the opportunity. From the article:
"While Parry was involved in an alcohol-related incident during the offseason, the Saints were familiar with him from the predraft process and kept him on the radar."
I love having Stanford players on the Saints roster. In addition to their contributions on the field, we have had family members attend our Stanford football viewing parties and at least one has attended our local Stanford Send Off for new students.

Most Saints were first Cardinals.

I always find it interesting that a player who does something bad off the field often becomes toxic to their own team fan base, but fan bases of new teams often embrace them as a potential "second chance for redemption" human interest story. I don't think Parry was persona non grata in Indy or anything, but other players like Michael Vick, Greg Hardy seem to be (relatively) welcomed in a new environment.
Regardless, good luck to DP. I definitely enjoyed him as an additional reason to root for Indy. But now instead of Stanford East, maybe we're develop Stanford South.
