Schadenfreude, the cynical person's opioid - Redrum - 09-10-2017
From my favorite Schadenfreude tavern, NDNation.Â
Maybe this will make you feel a teensy bit better.
Quote:"What will it take for you to stop being complicit?
ndbilly appears to have reached his breaking point, for god's sake. What is yours?
We just got ***** barnstormed in our brand new $400 million dollar whorehouse. What was once the hardest (and proudest) ticket in college football is now an open invitation for away teams to move in, decorate, and enjoy a weekend at Camp Notre Dame in the Former Home of the Fighting Irish.
How many of you spent money on tickets and flew your ass to South Bend to drink beer in the parking lot, only to turn around and bitch about the state of affairs on Facebook? Sadly, a great number of my friends and former teammates are included in that number. If Facebook were 2000 years ago, my feed would be full of scholars from around the world taking selfies with the Library of Alexandria burning in the background.
There is no neutral ground. There is no "hate the sin but love the sinner." There is no "for the lads." There is only Jenkins, Swarbrick, and Kelly, their nauseous greed, and your literal investent in their ongoing malfeasance.
And no, it's still not just about football wins and losses.

Changed the italics to quotes. I do it all the time.
Preferred quoting method for outside sources:
place the quoted material in quotes mode by highlighting it then pushing the speech bubble icon next to the hashtag icon
place a link to the original material below the quote.

You could have had some fun with that, given our willingness to believe the proclivity of Norte Dame fans to be rather colorful when they are losing.

I'm not sure if "copulating" was the ND board's auto-correct or ours (and the fact that I'm not sure really speaks volumes about the level of discourse around here that I've never seen
either word used), but either way, this is one of the best sentences I've read in a long, long time: "We just got copulating barnstormed in our brand new $400 million dollar whorehouse."

"Copulating" is almost certainly from here. I'm surprised you haven't seen it before, you must not have been around the gamethread for UW... (I didn't actually see much of it last night, surprisingly!)

So, you were too busy copulating, then?

In your thirties it's copulating. In your seventies it's falling asleep reading in bed together.
