Tenn- Florida finish - lex24 - 09-16-2017

If you saw the end of that game can you explain to me Tennessee's defense?  Florida on their own 37. QB hits a receiver in stride at goal line to win it.

Tennessee did not play a deep prevent. Guy simply ran past the defenders. QB (Franks) hit him perfectly  with a throw that went about 67 yards in the air.

Can't understand what Tenn's DC was thinking.

Saw it as well. I think the safety messed up. Looked like he was way deep, but ran up to meet the receiver, who then blew past him. Ugly indeed.

Had to defend against medium pass/time out/field goal?

Maybe that's it. At the start of the play I believe the clock showed 9 seconds remaining, so there could have been time for a 30 yard pass play and a field goal.
As it played out, the receiver ran a really nice route, including a change of speed (at about the 15 yard line) which seemed to disorient the DB just enough to throw off his running angle to the receiver.

So bad an NFL pregame show telestrated the incompetence.
