Any thoughts on the play. Sure looked clean to me. Didn't launch, hit with his shoulder, wasn't particularly vicious. Gilmore thought it was a terrible call. Even Mora mouthed the word "awful" after the disqualification.
Any chance the league can re-evaluate the play? Hate to see Holder out for the first half next week.
Class act by Holder as well. After getting kicked out, called the team together for encouragement and didn't jump on twitter as soon as he hit the locker room to complain as the UCLA guy did. Quite the contrast in style.

Holder' head and shoulder below the runners waist. As was the runners head. So arm for the legs get low and it's targeting. Dumb dumb rule

Most of the time when they showed Mora he looked like he had an extreme case of constipation. I do think he mouthed "awful". The rule is well meaning but needs to be tweaked. Neither Holder or the UCLA guy deserved ejection. Both cases the offensive player lower his head.
I'd save ejections for when it's a defenseless player. The other could bring 15 and a "yellow card". Do it a second time and you are ejected.
Does anyone know if there is anything like an appeal process for the carryover??

I thought that too, and yet for some reason people are crediting him with some sort of consistency in his child-like reactions to penalties, not just targeting, called against his players. He's really a piece of work.

Yes. It will be reviewed by the conference so there is a chance (small) that he will be re-instated.

Mora actually reacted in disgust to the Holder penalty, the ESPN cameras revealed.
When watching the game, I was literally thinking, how can football be played with these targeting penalties being called for hits on ball carriers, not defenseless receivers, and for hits that aren't clearly targeted to hit the head?

It was clearly a bad call and should have gone against the receiver if anything.
