"The lockers are made by Longhorn Lockers, a company that has also made lockers for other top programs, including Clemson, Alabama, LSU, Oklahoma, and Stanford."
Never thought I would see Stanford football mentioned with those four schools for any reason.

A scholarship is a scholarship is a scholarship, no matter where you go." Coach Tom Herman, Texas
It must be sad when a college/university doesnt have any other attribute to differentiate itself from other colleges/universities.

There are a lot worse places and colleges than Austin and UT.

The photo looks like a sci-fi movie, with a starship's crew stored in glass-fronted cubicles in suspended animation. Except starship crews usually don't wear football helmets.

Hermans comment is dumb on a lot of levels. But UT is an excellent public University.

Kind of implies he is strictly a football coach versus a leader dedicated to the broader success of the university . . . Thank you David Shaw!Â

Tom Herman was not a fan of the old lockers because they fight back:

Herman didn't say it very eloquently, but what I think he meant is that you can't outbid another school for a recruit by offering additional scholarship benefits; you have to find other methods.
Stanford, of course, has academics and its academic reputation.
Flashy athletic facilities impress recruits. Perhaps they shouldn't, but you have to remember these are 18 year old kids.

we all new what he meant. It's still basically unseemly. I do wonder about the kids appreciating these amenities visa vi the paying the players debate.

The lockers look to me like Borg rejuvenation stations. And maybe the players ARE Borg: the one-mind thing might be an advantage, but they sure are playing like slow and clumsy Borg (which never made sense to me: does the mind-link somehow slow the reflexes? or even just plain walking?)

Is that like recruiting kids by giving them a free trip to Vietnam?
