Anyone remember or otherwise know the Pac-12 TV selection process? - OutsiderFan - 10-23-2017

At one point in time I knew how this worked, but I've since forgotten.

Specifically, for Week 10:
It was just announced that Oregon State at Cal & Colorado at ASU are Pac-12 Network games.
UCLA plays at Utah on Friday on FS1, leaving three 11/4 games TBD as of this moment:

Arizona at Southern Cal
Stanford at WSU
Oregon at UW

FOX, FS1, ESPN, and ESPN2 are all in the mix.

Games that might capture Mickey's attention for national broadcast:
NC State at Clemson
Virginia Tech at Miami (my guess is ABC will make this the Saturday prime time game)
Penn State at Michigan State
Stanford at WSU
Arizona at Southern Cal

FOX must air at least one more Pac-12 game in prime time per its contract obligations, but I have no idea who selects first, second, third anymore.  Anyone here know?

Not sure, but I heard the process involves reading tea leaves and chicken bones.

If Gameday is coming to the Pac 12 the remainder of the year, I have to think it would be for our game in two weeks. Assuming both teams take care of business this week. Gameday has never been to Pullman, and I think the Cougs have been in the driver's seat once before (maybe the week before our game with them on Halloween two years ago?) and Couged it. If they do choose Pullman, I have to think ESPN or ABC is going to grab that game rather than let Fox benefit from the pre-game hype.

Guessing ESPN is using their 6 day option as I believe Fox used a similar option earlier in the season.

Arizona vs USC seems like the better television option if Arizona and USC win next weekend.  In that scenario UofA is on fire with their new dynamic QB and USC is still relevant to win the Pac-12 South.

However, Arizona could easily lose to WSU and USC definitely could lose to ASU.  In that scenario, Stanford v WSU becomes a more interesting Pac-12 game.  Though I am not sure that Pac-12 North game will ever get the more desirable time slots given the other options.

So, my guess, is that some network is now waiting on the 10/28 results.

Stanford at WSU is a six day selection, with options being:

12:30pm on FOX
7pm FS1
7:45pm ESPN

I hate FOX, but man do I want a 3:30pm ET game!

Other games are:
OSU-Cal
UA-USC
UO-UW
ASU-CU

I'm assuming the two that aren't national are Pac-12 network?

Wilner is consistently the best source I've found for info on Pac-12 TV.

Other tweets have more info (replies to questions).

Well, we're the best of the 3 in terms of rankings.  But we're also probably the worst in terms of fanbase sizes and eyeballs.
