ColoradoTree - 10-27-2017
The men had 3 runners in the Top 5 (including the winner, Grant Fisher), while the women came in second to Colorado.Â

Really impressive to knock off CU on the men's side. Congrats to our runners!

It was definitely a better day in Oregon for Stanford Athletics.

Well, the scoring table at the bottom of the article shows Stanford women tied with Oregon at 71 points. However, they are listed third and the article says they came third. There was no mention of the issue, as the article focused on the men winning.
Is there a tie breaker in cross country?

brobdingnagian win for the men. Except for one top runner they are now healthy
The women also did great with two who were hurting running well. Bodes well for the NCAA.Â
I don't know what the tie breaker is. Fastest top runner ?

Tiebreaks in NCAA competitions are decided by matching up the runners on both teams, i.e. #1 vs #1, #2 vs #2 etc.; the team that wins the majority of the matchups receives the higher placing.
Highest finisher or scoring the 6th runner is used in some competitions but the NCAA uses the above method.
