Cardinal v. Golden Bears Start Time? - Trevmiesterj - 11-06-2017

As of today, it's TBD.  I am rolling the family into the Republic of Palo Alto the 18th but I am doubtful we could make an early afternoon start time, especially if there is weather over Donner Pass.

Any speculation on game time vs. Cal?

As a secondary note, how easy is it to find tickets day of by holding up one finger, raiding tailgate parties or simply looking needful and forlorn?

There's always weather over Donner Pass. Sometimes it's snowing like crazy, sometimes it's warm and sunny.

There will be lots of tickets available for Stanford's remaining home games.

The ND game might be close to a sellout, but only because ND Fan will take the place over.

You can bank on that one.

Obviously there is weather over everywhere but in this case, I meant inclement weather.

My money's on the ESPN late game.

Oh FFS I thought they had used all their holds. This is super annoying.

Nothing new about ND taking over the Stadium. I remember when Tony Rice was the QB and they were touting him for All-American. That crowd- in the old stadium- had to be at least 50% ND. Make me sick.

not when we beat UW  :)

Yeah, late ESPN game seems most likely.  Figure USsC/UCLA will be first; UW/Utah will be second.

Arizona Oregon might take the third spot if Tate has another big day.

My prediction us we get the Fox Sports kickoff at 5 and possibly even at 1, but that coverage doesn’t begin until the fourth quarter due to coverage of a tractor pull going into thrilling octuple overtime.

Rivalry games are always special and we knocked UW-Ut into irrelevance. Plus after Utah beats Wazoo, we’ll be playing for the P12N.

It would be great if home teams could set aside a single game every year in which the team, and not TV, set the start time. In odd years, Stanford could set aside Big Game; in even ones, it could be homecoming. Setting aside these would bring the "college" back to college football while still allowing the TV networks to have control over which games to air. Alumni and students could plan activities around this event. The conference could make decisions if several teams requested the same spot, or it could assign the spots. The most important part of this adjustment would be advanced notice.

Not to be overlooking Big Game by any means (to me, it was always Big Game and not the Big Game; don't know why), any tea leaves readers have an opinion on the start time vs ND? People planning international travel want to ask the collective brainpower of the CARD.board.
