H-award odds - BostonCard - 11-13-2017

What in the actual fig is going on?

I have no complaints about Baker Mayfield being on top (and a prohibitive favorite at 1:20).  But how is Sequin Barkley even on the board, let alone tied with Bryce Love for the second spot after the last few weeks?

Re: H-award odds - cardcrimson - 11-13-2017

Well, Sequin has nearly 17x as many receiving yards as Love.

Seriously no clue, except early hype, east coast bias, and betting odds.

7 under 100 yard games. Has that ever happened for a RB Hiesman award winner?

Re: H-award odds - North Woods - 11-13-2017

Slightly different odds referenced here: https://twitter.com/Brett_McMurphy/status/929806591272071168. Love at 8/1 and Barkley at 20/1. Directionally makes more sense but still would have thought Barkley would be lower at this point.

Things can and will change between now and votes going in, but who will get invited to New York -- and who should? I would personally rank Tate and Taylor above Barkley, assuming they invite 4 which is not a certainty. I'm going to ignore past evidence and say that the voters will get over their Saquon crush in the next couple weeks unless he has a gigantic game against Nebraska or Maryland.

BTW, the other weird thing about Barkley is that he was 20-1 preseason. There were a lot of others with similar or better odds. Apart from being talented, is this hype essentially built on 2-3 big games (depending on how you rate his performance vs. Michigan), including racking up yards against Akron at home?

I believe Nebraska is weak defending the run, so Sequin could have a big day

Still surprised people discuss him at this point
