I have no idea what this means, but I think it means "Herm Edwards won't actually do anything": https://twitter.com/BonaguraESPN/status/937538141488943104

Alas! Students at @ASU will finally have the answer to life’s most elusive question: WHY DO WE PLAY? #Hello

The entire Twitter thread (or whatever it's called) was amusing, including Martyup-esque use of gifs.

The thing is...I have no idea what "restructuring the program on an NFL model" means. How does it differ from the typical head coach? Anything you say is pure speculation.

Start paying players?

More seriously, though, it sounds a bit like Walsh II.  Which, of course, didn't end well.

Indeed.

First of all, NFL teams have a GM responsible for personnel and a head coach who actually, well, coaches.

It appears that ASU plans to have Edwards as a GM ... and then not have a head coach?

And of course Edwards was never a GM.

I guess Edwards is going to recruit. Can he?
At the least, he doesn't have experience doing so.

I am not sure that managing the salary cap is a big part of a college team's concerns. (I was briefly going to say except at Alabama, but of course there is no cap there.)
