Hello Cardinal!
We are excited to square off against yall in the Alamo Bowl later this month.
Also let me say thank you for knocking off the Golden Domers a couple weeks ago. Always good to see ND go down.
Id like to invite you to visit the Frog fan forum if youre so inclined:

San Antonio has a pretty cool setup with the Riverwalk right by the Alamo Dome. If you make the trip and have never been before youre in for a treat.
Stop by the forum for more info as we will have threads up about where to stay and what to do in town.
Any questions about TCU feel free to ask and Ill do my best to answer.

Thanks for coming over and inviting us. I believe we have a dual national on this board (TCU/Stanford fan). Will be interesting to see how he roots.

I'm old enough to remember Jim Swink. Googling to confirm my memories I noted that Mr. Swink was Dr. Swink, forgoing the NFL for medicine in Texas and Vietnam. He also finished 2nd in the annual trophy whose name is not spoken on this website. As you may know, Stanford pretty much owns the 2nd place position in the 2010's, and seems likely to do so again this year too with our running back, Mr. Bryce Love. Enjoy his talents in San Atone, and after his NFL career his service to our country as a Pediatric Surgeon, if all goes well.
I'm really looking forward to the game, from afar, alas,
Go Cards!

The last game I attended at Stanford Stadium was Stanford v. TCU in 2007, a high-scoring affair in Harbaugh's first season and the first game after The Greatest Upset Ever (or whatever the T-shirt said).
I want payback!

Looking forward to a great game. Interesting dichotomy between the teams' philosophies
The last game I watched at the Alamo Dome was the 1998 National Semi between Stanford & Kentucky. Sooooo close.

Last time we played TCU I think Luck was on the sideline, redshirting, and the rain was brobdingnagian.
Was talking to my wife a few months back about how TCU was a nice campus and a great setup.
"Too much purple", she said. "Just too much purple".

As a dual national, I will be there; along with several other dual nationals, who like me are also Stanford season ticket holders. Already have my hotel and flight reservations. Like the last two times my schools met, I'll wear a combination of TCU and Stanford gear and root for a great game. I win either way. San Antonio is one of my favorite cities to visit.Â

Frog fans, please don't hold it against us that Trent Johnson also coached at Stanford.

Re: Hello from Fort Worth - ChicagoCard - 12-04-2017
Wikipedia's Alamo Bowl page states: "Since 2010 it matches the second choice team from the Pac-12 Conference and the third choice team from the Big 12 Conference." Is this really true currently? Doesn't this depend on whether 1, 2 or 3 teams from either conference make it to one of the 6 upper crust bowls?

Given that USC and Washington are playing in New Year's Day Games -- and TCU finished behind Oklahoma but ahead of Oklahoma State -- I would say that their positions, for all intents and purposes, are reversed.

Dr. Swink was a very influential man in the life of one of my relatives.
He was an orthopedic surgeon here in Fort Worth at the time.
Dr. Swink left us a few years ago but his legacy will live on.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Bryce Love play in person in a few weeks at the Alamo Bowl.
If I had a vote, I'd vote for him for the annual trophy that shall not be spoken of on this website.
Baker Mayfield isn't looked upon very highly around these parts after all the antics he's pulled over the years.

I was last in the Alamodome at the 2016 Alamo Bowl - TCU vs. Oregon.
That was the game we were down 31-0 at half and came back to defeat the Ducks in Double OT.
They recently completed $60 million in renovations so I'm looking forward to checking out the improvements.

The last game I saw in the Alamodome was...the Stanford vs. UConn women's basketball championship game in 2010. Yup, they host basketball games there too. A few other Cardboarders were there too :)

If anything I want to thank you for Coach Johnson! (I know he had a stop at LSU between y'all and us)
Trent Johnson was the right coach at the right time to help transition our Horned Frogs bball team. Right before our first season in the Big XII he took over a program that hadn't seen success in many years - a very tough challenge.
He led the way and paved the foundation for the success our basketball team saw last year that has continued into this year.
Coach Dixon said it best when he said "We are reaping the rewards of his hard work and discipline".

I wish that we could say the same about Stanford in the post-Trent Johnson era.

I've been impressed with what I've seen browsing the site.
Definitely more tolerable and enlightening than most boards.
Thanks to you I have learned about dendrophobia!
We had a billboard up for a while in downtown Fort Worth regarding ranidaphobia.
Here's a short article on the billboard campaign.
