I wonder if this is the IOC equivalent of the NCAA "death penalty"

To all- watch Icarus on Netflix. Really interesting documentary about the Russian doping operation.

Second that recommendation -- evolves from comic to darkly tragic as deftly as anything I've seen in a while. Apologies for continuing to drag the thread further, but Netflix has had a strong run of documentaries lately. I saw Sky Ladder, a documentary about a Chinese artist who uses gunpowder for his art, last night; that was really interesting. Their documentaries on Joan Didion and Gawker/Las Vegas Review-Journal have also been excellent.

I watched the full third season of Broadchurch. But then, I'm a low-watt bulb...

Geez, Mick, if you have to apologies for watching Broadchurch, Im on the wrong board. I thought seasons 1/2 >> 3, but Im a bit of an emotional sort. Nonetheless, David Tennnt is nothing short of amazing.

In the interest of embracing the thread drift... Are the accents on Broadchurch understandable? My spouse has trouble with most British varieties, and I tend to have trouble with Scots accents (as charming as I find them).

Two sittings. Worked on my strategic plan for 2018, which now includes assault and murder...

Highly recommend use of subtitles. David Tennant is usually understandable, but sometimes veers off. Also, the sound mixing is not world class. And I watch it on a computer.

Agreed. Really like David Tennant, and seasons 1 and 2 were better.
Here's a fun little bit with David Tennant, back when he was Dr. Who, he appeared on Comic Relief with Catherine Tate in one of her recurring characters as an obstreperous teenager. Mixes in Scottish / English rivalry, Dr. Who, Shakespeare and substitute teachers. Lots of fun if you appreciate British humor:
