MLB player is nobody.
Voldemort designed after Krash Krasinski, ex-Sliperry Rock fullback who was killed piloting the aircraft in the Rockne Krash.

The NBA's logo is indeed Jerry West.
Jerry Dior created the MLB logo from a mishmash of players. For the longest time, the rumor was that it was Harmon Killebrew. Harmon is not the model for the MLB logo, but he is the model for the logo of the Major League Baseball Players Association.

Sculptor Frank Eliscu asked his high school friend Ed Smith to pose as the model for the Hiesman Trophy. Ed was the fullback at NYU in 1935 and played pro football in 1936 and 1937. He never knew he was modeling for the Hiesman Trophy. In 1985, the New York Athletic Club presented Ed with his own Hiesman Trophy.

I've got a signed Harmon Killebrew baseball sitting on my desk at work. I wasn't alive to see his career as it happened, but he sure meant a great deal to the Twins organization and Twins fans in general. Always a bit funny that such a kind and decent man was nicknamed "Killer."

I was in Minneapolis several years ago. Among the other places we visited was the Mall of America’s (the largest shopping mall in the country). It was built on the site of Metropolitan Stadium - the original home of the Minnesota Twins. The coolest thing in the mall (a largely forgettable facility) - a red seat hanging on the wall well above the stores. It was a seat that was struck by a Killebrew HR (well over 500+ feet from home plate).
