ESPN Pac 12 Preview - CTcard - 08-16-2018

ESPN has a Pac 12 preview article up. It's a winner, as the very first two sentences contain both a blatant error and an internal contradiction. 

Quote:After making the playoff last season, Washington returns its rugged defense and powerful run offense, as well as quarterback Jake Browning's strong arm. The Huskies may struggle through the air,


Really, nobody believes we won the Pac 12 North last year.

They do at least recognize Love as the conference's most likely H-man candidate.

If Washington returns Jake Browning's strong arm, as this story claims, Stanford returns Dylan Jackson's blinding pass rush.

Todd McShay has Stanford winning the Pac-12. He also had Sam Darnold as the #1 player in the NFL Draft. Darnold is getting rave reviews with the Jets so far. Maybe he knows something about Pac-12 personnel?

Well, I believe that the sentence that begins "The Huskies may struggle through the air …" reveals how much the author actually believed in Browning's strong arm.

I see ESPN has changed "last season" to "two years ago," leaving the article technically more accurate, but with a rather weak lede.
