Congrats to Alanna Smith who will be playing for Australia ar the World Cup in Tenerife.

Ezi Magbegor is just 19 and was heavily recruited by that team from Storrs before she decided to go pro in Australia.

The Australians like to nickname their national teams; the "Opals" refers to the Australian women's basketball team.

But congratulations to Alanna! This will allow her to ramp up her competitive basketball earlier in the season than most college players are able to do. Hopefully this will lead to a faster start for her this year.
