OK Bob, it sounds like ASU loses very little and gains quite a lot this year. And they beat us 1/3 times last year. Charlie seems to be getting back to normal as the perennial spoiler.

Yes, great info. ASU is usually great keeping her system going strong.

It sounds like Arizona will be vastly improved, perhaps in a year or so. The Pac 12 is not getting any easier, is it?

Any idea, Bob, on why five players left Utah early? Tori Williams in particular, who seemed to be doing well for them?
When we look at Stanford steadily bringing in 3-4 players every year in an orderly transition, it is shocking to see the degree of turnover in some of the other pac 12 teams. 9 new players? Wow.

All I can guess is new or fairly new coach didn't like what she saw and let it be known. Of course they could be the previous coach's recruit and the player says "I didn't sign up for this"

Thanks Bob!
Melgoza scares me. When she gets into a groove she seems capable of generating Kelsey Plum numbers. She wasn't consistent last year, but just hoping you get her on an "off night" isn't a great strategy. And that was even though Washington lacked much of a supporting cast around her. But with Romeo coming back from injury and Moser developing into a consistent 3 point threat, I think Washington may surprise a few teams this year, particularly at home. We will have a challenging trip to Seattle.

Transfers will be starting and helping a lot

USC will be a dangerous team if they stay healthy. I bet a lot of teams are going to be outscored by SC in the first quarter. Their lack of depth may hurt them late in games.

USC has probably 3 of the top 22-15 players in the conference. But yes depth is a problem for sure.

Did Romeo just play a single year for Washington? I remember her transfer and special permission to play immediately, then she was out all last year. Am I remembering right?
Question--when a player medically retires, do they get to keep their scholarship? It would seem unfair to take it away due to something outside the student's control. On the other hand, I imagine Romeo may already have graduated if last year was her fourth year?
The Washington fans will not be happy with these developments. It wasn't that long ago that we beat Plum and an excellent team in front of a sold-out crowd in Seattle. Sure doesn't seem as if UDub is going to be able to sustain that level of excellence on a year-to-year basis the way, for example, Oregon is.

Well goodness 81 the story is right above on Washington
Romeo played one year and averaged 9 points. brobdingnagian loss but worse it’s illness not injury so very sad and upsetting
Like several current Stanford football players they can move to a medically retired scholarship. Like the athletic but doesn’t count towards the total. In Washington’s case it doesn’t matter they aren’t at the limit
brobdingnagian losses Strother was ranked 35 out of HS

Who knows what to expect from WSU. Hristova can be a star if she stays healthy, and three (3!) Molinas?! All new coaching. It doesn't feel like this is the year they will get their first win over Stanford, but it is very hard to predict given the wholesale coaching change. I really enjoyed watching Chanelle Molina and now she'll have two sisters there? Could they all be on the floor at the same time?
