I'm back with some Stanford coverage - davidmlombardi - 09-09-2018

Hi all!

I've been away from covering Stanford for some time, writing about the 49ers for The Athletic. Today, I got the opportunity to return to Stanford and write about the game against USC -- and more:

Stanford bullies its way to another win over USC, but the Cardinal's strong-arming has evolved over time (link)

I'm still primarily on the 49ers coverage, but they let me swoop in and cover this big Stanford game. If this story generates enough interest/subscriptions, I'll likely be able to do more Stanford coverage for The Athletic. And I know that there's been a demand on social media for more in-depth/long-form/feature/analysis-oriented Stanford coverage, so this is a chance at that!

Anyway, just wanted to share the link. You can read it with a free trial through there. Thanks much for all the support!

Thanks much! Yes, Arcegatron is a classic. Nice ring to it too.

I subscribed last week, gave your article a positive review this morning. Thanks.

Hi David, I just subscribed to the Athletic last week, anything in particular we should do to encourage the brass to let you do more of this? I assume rate/comment helps, anything else?

Welcome back home David!!! I hope we will continue to see more from you this season!

Thanks for the link. Like others here, I recently subscribed and am giving positive ratings. Please let us know what else we should do. Thanks!

Good luck with the Athletic David.  It's not my cup of tea, but I still hope the venture turns out successfully, both for you and for the many Stanford fans here who are really enjoying it.

I noticed a lot of Costello press from you guys today, both in your column, Mandel's, and another whose author I forget off the top of my head. I was a bit surprised that the Stanford part of my feed was the most active this morning!
