The Giants now have a 10-game streak! - OutsiderFan - 09-12-2018

Congratulations to the Gigantes. They have now matched their all-time San Francisco record of a losing steak, hitting the somewhat magical 10 game skid, last 10-game record of 0-10 mark.  If only they did this last season when I wanted the #1 overall pick as a booby prize. Though I must admit, I'm very pleased to have landed Joey Bart with the #2 pick!

It takes a strong commitment to mediocrity and denying reality to end up with a streak like this. I don't know WTF Giants ownership and management thinks they are doing, but it's pretty clear they are way, way behind at least three teams in their division.

It looks more and more clear they should have traded Bumgarner before the deadline for a haul of young talent.  I guess they didn't do that because they are overflowing with minor league talent already, and want MadBum for a playoff run in 2019.  Oh, wait...

Just had to update the post title to keep it real.  Now a San Francisco Giants record losing streak. Pretty brutal last three seasons.

2016: Best record in MLB through All-Star break, then worst record after break due to catastrophically bad bullpen

2017: 98 losses

2018: Longest losing streak in S.F. history

BUT, if this is the price for three World Series Trophies in five seasons, I'll take it!

The Architect is old and tired. They need to give Theo Epstein the GG Bridge, the Fairmount, two acres in Noe Valley and all of Philz coffee houses. They don’t have them.

OT, but still local. The Giants end skid - cardcrimson - 09-14-2018

Finally the Giants ended the longest losing streak in San Francisco history. Yeah!

Interestingly, Chris Stratton pitched the first complete game for the Giants this season, and only the third by a NL West pitcher in 2018. Additionally, he's the first 10 game winner for the Giants in a couple of years. Stunning, and congrats!

Let's add the fact that both Giants runs were knocked in by Stanford's Austin Slater...

The probability of Bochy being let go after this season is pretty high.  Many people say he has HOF credentials, since they did win 3 WS under him.  I read an article yesterday, before they won, that his lifetime record was 1321-1334.  Which means that prior to the 11-game losing streak he was 2 games under .500 in his career.  For him to get back to .500 lifetime they would have to win all 12 of their remaining games, which ain't gonna happen.  So how many managers are in the HOF with losing records lifetime?

And of course, it was really last year's abysmal 63-99 record that killed his W-L stats.

The '10, '12 and '14 WS championship teams were all in the top ten in slugging % - they need to get back to that.  AT&T fence dimensions notwithstanding, If you can't hit for extra base hits in today's MLB, you cannot sustain winning.

Been a tough 2.5 years.
