What's a "Warning Level"? - Redrum - 10-01-2018
This same question was posed in a now buried post of mine, but never got an answer. It seems to be some sort of posting status indicator or...well, who knows? I didn't see anyone else with the same label up there in the upper right hand corner with the other posting stats. Was I just a posting feature guinea pig on some experiment or is there now some Warning Police person judging posts and handing out tickets? Or maybe its a warning label for posters that I'm toxic or psychotic? (both?) Reassuring, I guess, that I'm a zero but the follow up conditional is "...so far."

It's a default board software tool for boards that issue warnings leading up to a banning. Fortunately those sorts of issues are rare enough here given the quality of our membership. As of now, I know of no plans to issue posting warnings, so rest easy, and post on!

Had the same query a while back. Yvonne walked me back from the ledge with essentially same info as 2006 has provided. No black SUVs parked across the street....so far.

RE: What's a "Warning Level"? - admin - 10-01-2018
When a member commits some violation of board rules, the staff will send the member a warning. The warning level is a variable that the moderators (?) and admins can increment when issuing a warning. That being said, I can't remember the last time someone's been warned, and we've never had a discussion among the mods and admins about how we would use it.
The warning level appears on your own messages but is not visible to the general membership.
