The good news is that Bryce Love is on it.

Bad news is no Toohill. Big loss.

I believe we have had some recent history with this depth chart not being totally accurate. That said, I am sure we all want Love to be fine and ready to play.

More to that point - he was listed on the Depth Chart for the OSU game last year, which was an early Thursday night game, and then he came out of the tunnel wearing sweats and a walking boot. See
https://thecardboard.org/board/showthread.php?tid=14654&highlight=depth+chart+for+OSU.
Not only was the depth chart misleading last year, but Shaw called him "day-to-day" and a "gametime decision" in his presser. Clearly none of this was true and he knew it, and I don't blame him for it. It's better for Bryce and better for the team for Shaw to be deceptive on these matters.
I really hope for the best for Bryce. Unfortunately for the fans and the team, I think the rational best choice for him would be not to push the ankle too soon. It's the same left ankle that he's been injuring and re-injuring for 3 years in a row, right? Many forget that he started the 2016 season in a boot on his left ankle, too...

I would hope that Simmons gets a shot at safety soon. Pretty obvious why.

Yeah, I meant to add that the bad news is that being on a depth chart is not an indication of being able to play.
That being said, I saw somewhere on the twitterverse that Love was fine and could have come back if needed. I guess we may find out more at tomorrows press conference.

As predicted, Shaw said that Bryce is “day-to-day” and they’ll see how he’s doing later in the week. He also said that the injury isn’t as bad as last year.
This is better than the worst case scenario. But the part about him having a chance to play on Sat cannot be trusted.
Good news - we have a bye next week.

Great timing.
After game six, we get ten days off.
After game seven, we get an extra day off.
Then UW.
Ideal.

From anything I have seen previously, it is not clear to me that Simmons is the answer to issues at safety - though he is a hard hitter and relatively sure tackler.

This is at least AN answer.
Also, would love any intel on Edwards.
