Shaw to Fitz in the Chron...
Toohill ahead of sked may play. Edwards “Weeks away.”
Edwards played as a true freshman. Given the safety problem and depth perhaps he returns? Can probably get a medical redshirt.
Fitz goes on to speculate re Sarrell and Wedington redshirting.

As far as I can tell, the new four-game rule more or less makes the medical redshirt obsolete - though I suppose it could come up in a hardship waiver request for a sixth year.
Edwards played in three games. He could play in one more game and still claim a redshirt year.
Compared to actual quotations I saw, Fitzgerald is being a little loose with his characterizations of Shaw on injuries and who is floating redshirts.
As always, there is much mystery in interpreting a college football coach on injuries.
Toohill "turned a corner".
Wedington "getting close" - but noted four game redshirt rule.
Sarell - "couple a weeks away", noted redshirt rule.
Edwards "weeks away"
