Can he just shut up and coach football?
On second thought, maybe it's best that he embroil himself in controversy in the week leading up to his game against us...

Yeah, but this is from last June. As unnecessary as the incident was (and the whole Tweetstorm that surrounded it), this is ancient history in today's news cycle and will have no impact on the game this week (unfortunately).

No. No he can't. Just because his utterances continue to be noted--even treasured-- doesn't change the fact that-- regardless of political views-- Mike Leach is a dick. Somewhere between the fecklessness of Buddy Teevens and the dickishness of Mike Leach there have got to be a lot of coaches who could succeed at Stanford. If/when the time comes I hope we can find one of them.

We have a wildly successful coach right now.

I think I hear a Band show coming...

I haven't seen the band since their last banishment, but I have been told that their halftimes have been throttled way back. One friend said it seemed like they had been tamed pretty thoroughly. Hopefully not, because Leach is a one-man target-rich environment.

I would much rather the team execute a thorough roasting of Leach on the scoreboard than see the band roast him at halftime. Hit him where it hurts.
But I agree that he’d be an easy target.

I couldn't agree more about the preference for a Cardinal football drubbing of the Catamounts. But we don't have to choose only one of the two options.
I am from an era when it was possible that anything could happen in the football game, but we were massively dominant at halftime!!! Each and every game. Go wild, LSJUMB!!!

Yes, love the team, love the band.
Love the LSJUMB antics, *especially* when the recipients are so deserving — like The Leach — of ridicule.
No respectable, big budget program will tolerate him being an embarassment. As more and more recruits see what child they’d be entrusting their futures to, fewer and fewer recruits will come, and the smart programs, like, let’s say, Tennessee, know this.
As has been previously discussed on this board when Leach’s tweet first came up, his tweets were particularly shameful because WSU is supposed to be a university first. Even if he is a coach and not part of the faculty, as a highly paid staff member, he needs to issue a retraction and apology when he publicizes untruths.

Yes, academic integrity would seem to require it! But retractions? Apologies? How quaint! So out of style!
LSJUMB “Mike”:
“Hey Sarah, I just tweeted a really divisive video that turns out to be completely fake and doctored.”
LSJUMB “Sarah”:
“No problem, Mike! Whatever you do, no apologies! Just say you were only trying to discuss ‘ideas’ and the truth of the video is beside the point. What’s good enough for Washington DC is good enough for Washington State!”
By the way, I’ve seen fake, doctored news from both the left and the right, so I’m not trying to alienate anyone.
I agree with both of you that Leach’s antics will bite him in the end, including on the football field. But it really super chafes me that this moron, who is admittedly funny at times, is riding a 2-game win streak against us.
