Does that include players who have had their Voldemort stripped?  If so, Reggie Bush would count.

Would add Mariotta, Palmer, and Leinert as heimsan winners since 2000.

You guys have 10. Simpson, Allen, Baker, Beban, Plunk, Garrett, Mariota, Palmer, Leinert, Bush.

Ricky Bell was not a winner.

RE: Voldemort Trophy trivia - Spiny_Norman - 11-05-2018

More recently Palmer, Leinert, Bush (are you counting him, Phogge?).

But I think there may be a trick to this question. From 1974-2000, Stanford hosted the East-West Shrine game which may have included Voldemort winners who played in Stanford Stadium, but not against Stanford.

Phogge - if that information is relevant to the trivia question, I don't know how to guess at the other answers.

Charles White
John Huarte
Tim Brown

Bob - I looked up Tim Brown and Ron Dayne. Brown finished at ND in 1987 and ND did not play in Stanford Stadium until 1989. Wisconsin played at Stanford in 1995, but Dayne was not at Wisconsin until 1996.

White and Huarte, not Brown. Sorry guys do not include East/West. You have 12 now. This is more fun than last Saturday night.

Maybe
Hopalong Cassidy
Roger Staubach

RE: Voldemort Trophy trivia - Phogge - 11-05-2018

Cassidy yes. Staubach no.

Ohio State came into Stanford Stadium top ranked in 1955. Joe Long of the Indians made about 30 tackles and the good guys won 6-0.

Final three hints.

3 running backs. Two from traditional powers. The other from a school who has shared a national championship and is now in a different conference then when they won it.

One had a touching personal story and one is deceased.

Rashaan Salaam

Billy Sims

John Cappelletti

RE: Voldemort Trophy trivia - Phogge - 11-05-2018

OK Eric, did you have to look it up. Careful, Section DD is watching.

I looked down the list of past winners and used your clues to pick the ones I thought might have played in Stanford stadium

I knew Salaam was dead (I assume your clue was someone who died young), that Colorado changed conferences, and I was at the game in Stanford Stadium when he played

I knew about Cappelletti's brother's story and no other touching personal story among winners among the running backs so went with him

Sims was my biggest guess, but I knew we played Oklahoma several times in the 1970s and 1980s so that seemed the best fit of the remaining winners who were running backs

Good work pal. Do you think touchdown cookies are necessary Saturday?

Well, Chuck was runner-up to Archie his senior year, but that's as far as he got.

RE: Voldemort Trophy trivia - Phogge - 11-08-2018

Griffen did not play in Stanford Stadium. Art Schlitzer did and he probably made bets on the outcome at halftime.
