I know I know. Stanford is not going to the Rose Bowl. Just thinking out loud, thinking about WA against OSU.
Do the Huskies stay within 3 TDs of OSU?

Northwestern stayed within 3 TDs of OSU, and I think UW is better than Northwestern. That said, I would expect OSU to be favored by 10-14.
The CFP committee hasn't spoken the last word yet, however. They may still slot Ohio State ahead of Oklahoma in the final rankings: an Urban Meyer-Nick Saban semi-final may be too tempting. In that case, the Dawgs would play Michigan, which would be a better match-up.

I think it would depend on which Ohio State team showed up. The team that kicked Michigan's butt or the one that barely squeaked by Nebraska and Maryland and lost to Purdue.

Urban Meryer doesn't generally lose bowl games. He's 11-3 in his career. Petersen has lost 3 out of his last four.
UW's pass D is really good, but they haven't faced anything like Ohio State's passing attack. Sure WSU throws it all the time, but OSU throws it down field, with Haskins, who has to be one of the best deep throwers I've ever seen. If the Buckeyes can drop 60 on Michigan, they can probably handle the Huskies somewhat easily.

Ohio State can probably handle the Huskies somewhat easily, the $64 question is will they? They probably could have handled Maryland and Nebraska (two teams with losing records) and Purdue (6-6) easily, but they didn't.
However, given that this is the Rose Bowl they will most likely play one of their better games, so I think the Huskies are toast.

I wish I could remember the web site, but I saw one prognosticator predicting a close Washington win yesterday.

Agree. But the Buckeyes appear to have turned a corner now. Baffling how they could let Purdue manhandle them, but the same thing happened against Iowa last year. Urban may be watching the CFP from the couch again.

the Rose Bowl will be his last game as OSU's head coach
Urban Meyer to retire after Rose Bowl, with Ryan Day taking over as Buckeyes head coach

I have to wonder if this was part of the deal that allowed Urban Liar to come back at all.
I don't expect for one second that he's actually retiring. I'd like to hope that nobody else would hire him, but that's beyond wishful thinking.

The only times I have seen OSU, they have let decent runners gash them for big gains. Miles Gaskin is certainly capable of having a big day. Trey Adams should be back to full strength on the OL, so it wouldn't surprise me if the Dawgs run, run, run. On the other side of the ball, if we are to believe the All-Pac 12 team, BB-K should be effective in containing the OSU run game, and Haskins would need to beat a high-quality secondary.
The above is the optimistic view for the Huskies. But I don't believe in Jake Browning for 60 minutes in important games. So OSU by 14 sounds right to me.
