MBB: The future - BostonCard - 12-05-2018

From the Kansas game:

Quote:Cardinal freshmen and sophomores combined for 74 of Stanford’s 84 points on the night, and 30 of its 36 rebounds, continuing an early-season trend. Through eight games, first- and second-year players have accounted for 81 percent of Stanford’s scoring and 83 percent of its rebounding.

It is of course frustrating to come so close and still not have a signature win.  But to the extent that the team is dominated by young players, there is at least hope that we will break through soon.

We need a center so damn bad it's not even funny. Hoping Kisunas and Fitzmorris develop quickly, or we land a 2020 stud.

Any kind of stud. Brevin-like. Need a program changer soon.

Watching the Kansas game, it's not just a center.  It's ANYONE with some bulk who can box out/defend against power players. So that it's not 3 or 4 on Sharma all the time.

In other words, Reid Travis.

God, it's hard not to wonder what this team might have been like if he'd stayed.

Hoping that maybe Kisunas can develop into that.

Well this article certainly bodes well regarding the academic/athletic divide and the 40-year decision:
