Well deserved. Bring home the Championship, ladies!

What is with reporting GPA to five decimal places?

It’s called a tie breaker. Or would you prefer a coin flip like that State in the recent election? :)

No, that one took third. Second place was 3.93616.

I was curious so I did a bit of reverse math and assuming GPA = 4 for an A and 3 for a B, one weighted avg scenario for that GPA is 44 units of A for every 3 units of B. That's pretty awesome to sustain that at Stanford for what, 7 quarters?

These are my nieces. Not surprised to see Torrey there - maybe she deserved second team. Very surprised to see Adlee there - heck of a way to finish her career she played two seasons of indoor and at least one season of beach with a bad right shoulder.
Torrey was almost a Stanford player - but they offered Plummer instead and Torrey went to UCLA then transferred to Cal Poly after one year.
Torrey is going to be one hell of a pro beach player

Congrats to @plummdawg! Well deserved as she is a great OH, but has the all-around game too.
( I was kind of hoping they would step outside the box and give it @hentzmorgan , who really seems to be the team leader and is awesome in her libero role )

Plummer is...
Quote:Ninth Stanford Cardinal to earn First-Team honors at least three times…Thirty-eighth player in Division I history.
Since she is a junior, she will have a chance to earn First-Team honors a fourth time. I don't know the answer to this, but I bet BobK does... how many Stanford players have won First-Team honors four times, and how many in Division I history?

Thanks Viking_guy. Ironically I had found that document but didn't scroll down to the third page, which had the answer.
I had gone through a couple of the bios on GoStanford, so I knew that Faluke had missed out on the first team her freshman year. I'd looked for Folkl, but it didn't have her accolades. I should have figured Walsh and Tom; Oden was just before my time.

One caveat - BobK will probably be able to tell us - I'm not sure how the teams have expanded in numbers over the years.
I arrived just after Kim graduated, to watch us get killed a couple of times by little sister #1 (Elaina, playing for John Dunning at UoP and leading them to their two NCAA championships) before little sister #2 (Bev) arrived on the Farm.

I remember attending in Kalamazoo when Elaina & UOP beat Kim and Wendy & Nancy & . . . . in the Finals. So maybe I should reconsider my attendance tonight?????

Someone better in the know than me -- should Fitzmorris have been chosen for first team AA? I know we can't have every Stanford player be on the first team, but she sure looked like the best player on the court against PSU. Granted that, being remote, I could only watch televised games, but every time I watched this season, she came up with plays.

Not that I'm someone better in the know, but I think Audriana did better in the front row than Kathryn did (at least when in system), but Audriana apparently wasn't good enough to play back row rather than Kathryn. As a result, Kathryn played twice as many points, contributed quite well on serves & digs plus back-row kills. I'm not knowledgeable enough to judge myself, but others have said that when Stanford was out of system, the ball was set to Kathryn, who could do well with a not so perfect set.
Stanford earned 1st team AA spots for offense, defense, and setting. Unless we walked through the tournament 3-0 all the way, I don't think Stanford deserved more 1st team AA spots than that.
Next year, it may be even more interesting. Holly Campbell may also be good enough to be considered for 1st team AA.
I would guess the goal for next year will be the NC again. But I think an undefeated season is a real possibility, as it almost was this year. I think they've shown that not only are they good, they can also take it up a notch when things aren't going right.
