Considering Jalen Hurts performance in leading  Alabama to a come back win against Georgia a month ago, I thought he earned the right to start last night's game against Oklahoma.
Hurts still has a year of eligibility, but it seems nobody favors him to be Alabama's starter and, or, an NFL prospect. In Hurts I see a 6'2" 220 pound guy who throws the ball well, has good vision down field, patiently waits for plays to develop, and has exceptionally good running ability.
I know Tua is a sensational QB as well, and I understand only one guy can be Alabama's starting QB
My question is why is Hurts not highly regarded as an NFL prospect, what am I missing here ?

When he goes to Washington State next year and leads them to the CFP he'll become a highly regarded NFL quarterback prospect.

First, TT was second in the Voldemort (gawd I hate the juvenile auto change). So it was a no-brainer to start him. He is a much better passer than Hurts.

Hurts is not particularly accurate. That’s his issue.

Not a WAZZU type. He will go somewhere where the do a lot of read option.

I've watched some Hurts You Tube videos but those are highlights of his completed passes. It looks to me like his throwing mechanics are respectable, but I'm no expert.
A year ago Hurts chose to remain at Alabama, so I don't know why he would now decide to transfer, but it's possible.
