Also Jeff Kent. Most HRs by a second baseman ever. Should be in. Travesty that he's not in. Five time all star, like Mussina. Was league MVP once.

Among the students during Ralph’s years at Alhambra High were many well-known names. They include future satirist Stan Freberg, Tex Schramm, future architect of the Dallas Cowboys, and Dorothy Rodham, mother of Hillary Clinton.

After graduation in 1940, Ralph was courted by several major league organizations, including the Yankees. All were offering Class-D contracts. Hollis Thurston, a scout for the Pirates, offered Ralph a Class-A contract with a $3000 bonus. He signed that summer. Ralph would cash his first paycheck the following spring as a left fielder in Albany, New York.

He graduated [from high school] in 1963 and was voted "Most Likely to Succeed".[10] He wanted to attend the University of Florida, but coach Dave Fuller was not interested.[8] He attended Gulf Coast Community College, Panama City for one year, and then after a good summer league, was signed by the Dodgers

Kiner graduated from Alhambra High School and, at 18, signed with the Pirates for a $3,000 bonus and a promise of $5,000 more when he made the majors. He attended what was then called Pasadena Junior College during his minor league years, then was drafted in 1943 and served for two years in the Navy.
