W Soccer: 3 and 4 on national teams -

Macario, Girma, and Pickett are playing on the U23 WNT in an exhibition tournament in Seattle vs. NWSL teams. Macario had an assist in the first game.
USWNT roster for upcoming friendlies includes alums Davidson, Sullivan, Press, and Campbell; don't know what's up with O'Hara but maybe she's injured?
Has anyone seen a schedule for Stanford spring exhibition games?

O'Hara had ankle surgery back in October but was only out a couple of months. She played in some recent friendlies so maybe they're giving her some time off to ensure she's fully healthy for the World Cup and getting a look at some younger players

Per the Utah Royals and the USWNT, she was "not available for selection" to the USWNT because of her ankle, but they didn't provide additional details. She played in the SheBelieves Cup in February and March, but only played the first half in the first game, and was then subbed off in the 60th and 66th minutes, respectively, in the second and third games, but those were planned substitutions to gradually get her back to match fitness, as I understand it.
But given how thin the national team is at outside back, it seems safe to say that she aggravated the injury, or that recovery isn't proceeding as quickly as everyone would like. I agree with winflop that they likely just want to make sure she's ready to go for the World Cup and give her a little time off now for her to get back to 100%. (The roster is the same group of defenders they've been calling in, but instead of a younger player to replace Kelley on the roster, they called 34-year-old Ali Krieger back in for the first time in over a year, so this feels more like a "we know our roster, and we want a competent stopgap for right now to keep us on the right track rather than trying someone new" kind of thing.)

Maybe they'll be giving more time to Davidson at that position, which would strengthen her utility role of playing anywhere on the backline plus holding mid.
But I wish they had spent more time developing a young outside back, like, say, someone who was just drafted in the first round in the NWSL and played outside back at Stanford . . .

Anything that increases Davidson's role on that team is good news and something I'd welcome, but it sure seems like Jill Ellis sees Davidson as her center back of the present and future, when she's healthy. I expect her to start alongside Sauerbrunn this summer at the World Cup, with O'Hara and Dunn as the outside backs. (Davidson would definitely be starting if she hadn't gotten hurt, so maybe it's Dahlkemper this summer instead. We'll see.)
And I hear you on Tegan, but Coach Ellis clearly believes she doesn't have to take already-developed outside backs when she can just pluck them from the overstuffed ranks of forwards and wingers and turn them
into outside backs. It's an experiment that clearly worked with O'Hara, and seems to be working well with Crystal Dunn. (I mean, my goodness, O'Hara and Dunn would be a deadly attacking tandem for most countries around the world, and for us, they get turned into defenders. Is there any soccer team
anywhere that has that kind of attacking acumen at outside back?)
Dunn is only 26, and Sonnett (seemingly O'Hara's primary backup at right back) is 25, even though it seems like she's been around longer than that. So there is
some youth still at outside back. (Once Sauerbrunn (33) leaves the national team, it seems like center back will be held down by the Davidson-Dahlkemper tandem, and Dahlkemper is only 25, so that's a pretty youthful center back duo going forward.)

Corey Baird in the starting XI for USMNT vs Chile, starting in about 30 minutes on ESPN2.
