Softball-vs. Sacramento State - d4cohn - 04-02-2019

Doubleheader today against Sac State. Card lead 4-3 in the bottom of the fourth in Game #1.

And Stanford walks it off! 8-7 with Kristina Inouye being the hero for the Cardinal. 2 runs scored in B7 
without any outs recorded. Cardinal improve to 26-5 on the season, with Game #2 coming up around
7:15pm.

Scoreboard operator busy early in Game #2. Sac State jumps out to 3-2 lead
heading to T2.

Bad news for the Cardinal, as Alyssa H. suffers an injury and is unable to continue
in the game.

Sac State still leads by one heading to B3.

multiple runners on and no outs to score.

Cardinal fall in Game #2 to split double header with Sacramento State.

Card now 26-6 on the season, and off to Corvallis to play Oregon State.

Stanford only a win over lowly Santa Clara (at minimum) away from clinching their first winning record since 2014. That alone (and I am confident there will be more than just that over the final 20 games this season) is remarkable and fantastic. Far exceeding the wildest expectations coming into this season.

I absolutely knew the team would do well once they hired one of Rittman's players as coach.
