How common is it for both teams in a baseball game to wear almost the same uniform colors? We're both in black tops with red numbers and light colored pants.

It happened earlier this season vs USC as well and I had a very tough time telling them apart on my phone.
We're up 2-1, B3, but Beck seems to have been wearing a couple of runners every inning.
Bellafronto went yard and we're now up 3-1, B4.

Lucky to get out of that inning with only one run scored on us. Left the bases loaded. Maybe Beck should be done. He has faced 22 batters and thrown 98 pitches. He's given up 7 hits and 2 runs in 4 innings.
One out and Handley at second and he tries to steal 3rd? Aggressive or foolish?
Staying with Beck? Scratching my head here.

I'll give Back this, he's a fighter. ASU is a great hitting lineup and Beck doesn't have the stuff to shut them down. But he's kept them somewhat off-balance with a heavy dose of offspeed and scattered a lot of singles to limit the damage.

I love Handley but he kills me with his baserunning. That has to be close to 10 outs he's made on the basepaths this season.

I thought the conventional wisdom was never to be the first or third out at third. Second out seems ok, since a sacrifice fly scores you a run, but I will admit that this was the received wisdom in the days before the quants, so it may have been proven wrong.

I not watching the game, just the live stats. Beck's numbers don't look good and he just walked a batter. I hope he can hold on. He's thrown a lot of pitches in 5 innings.

Beck's night is done. One out in the 5th, responsible for the man on first. Slim lead for us 3-2.

Palisch coming in for Beck. Is he a strong pitcher?

I wasn't watching that part but the play-by-play shows it as P-3B which suggests maybe he was caught off base (maybe a pickoff move) and had to head to third. (Just guessing.)

For what it’s worth, the stats won’t show it this way but Handley wasn’t trying to steal third. He got a taste of his own medicine as he got caught leaning too far off second base and was back picked by the ASU pitcher.

And Palisch gives up a hit to his first batter. Shizzle.
But, he makes up for it by striking out the next batter to end the inning and stranding 2 ASU runners on base. We need Dasch to go yard.

Thanks for the clarification. More acceptable than trying to steal third, imo.
Palisch gets us out of the inning despite giving up a single. 3-2 after 5.

Thank you Dasch!!! HOME RUN!! You must have been reading the Cardboard.

It was a HIGH fly that just barely cleared the LF fence, but just as good as a 450ft dasch-bomb.

ASU's new pitcher is getting smoked. First two batters are a home run and a base hit.

Palisch is gone. That was fast. Only threw 22 pitches.
Grech now pitching.

GRECH = FILTHY!!!

ASU, please leave Burzell in the game.
Bases loaded!!! Zero outs!!! Please leave Burzell in the game. ♥‿♥
Grand slam for Dasch?
Whiff
And . . . nada. Bummer.

Grech gets through the seventh with no problems (one hit, but got the ensuing batter to hit into a double play). Would be nice to get an insurance run.

Ask and you shall receive, BC. Stowers with an RBI single to bring home Bellafronto who had roped a double to the gap. 5-2 heading to B8.
