I know the name from Tennessee but that’s it. Hope he keeps the staff. We do need a women’s distance coach

"Clark was part of a historic moment as he coached his wife (Jearl Miles-Clark) and two sisters (Hazel Clark, Joetta Clark Diggs) to a first, second and third sweep in the 800-meters at the 2000 United States Olympic trails."
That's quite a family/coaching connection!

Let me see whether my friends know anyone who could be a jumps coach.

And now every coach gone except the sprint coach. Also gone and all to North Carolina is the Director of Operations.
Something stinks here

They're pissed Isaiah Brandt-Sims is still on the football team, and revolting. ;)

So, are we getting coaches from UConn?
RE: New T&F Coach -
BobK - 07-25-2019
Seems that way. UConn Definitely a level lower than Stanford

I have a left field guess, but it doesn't make the athletic department look good. We've been getting rid of a lot of coaches lately.

Doubt that full metal. Nor was Turley

Before reading his bio, I did not know the first thing about Clark. Bob is correct to point out that UConn's T&F program is at a lower level than Stanford's but that shouldn't be interpreted to mean that Stanford settled for Clark. I do know for certain that coaches from "higher levels" with "better resumes" were interested in Stanford but the interest was not reciprocated. Clark was Muir's pick for better or worse.
I'll hold Clark to the same set of expectations that I had for Milt. As noted in the article Bob posted above, both the Stanford men and women will enter the cross country season as the favorites to win their respective titles. Uncle Chuck was right to point out in an earlier thread that Vin put Stanford on the map for distance runners but the fact remains that Stanford has held its position as the premier destination for elite American-born distance runners since his departure. Anything short of at least one national title next fall for XC will be a disappointment given the collection of talent on the rosters.

Health hurt us badly last season so that’s a brobdingnagian key.
I hear our sprint coach will be staying. Matt have you heard that ?
We have the resumes to win in either XC group.

Concur with Bob Re how the Cardinal look on paper. However, Washington has made some great strides in recruiting; CO is not going anywhere; and the Ducks are relentless with their grad/transfer efforts, so it's hard to neglect them.
Should make for an interesting XC season for Coach Clark to jump into.
