In three seasons Stanback has 41 rebounds, 37 points, and 11 blocks total. That equates to 1 RPG, .9 PPG and .3 BPG, and he's a 36% career FT shooter.

In fact we now have just 10 on scholarship pending one for Keefe. Depth is important, even for defense.

It's a medical retirement, so possible he was fighting something this whole time and never really up to full strength. Agree that it's not exactly a big loss, and Kisunas already had him beat for the second post spot.

Sad to see but he's getting his degree and that matters more. Also, I don't think he had much of a BB career to look forward to.
And it's night & day different from Cormac Ryan.

Wish him well, but not going to lie, was very relieved after seeing the thread subject that it was Stanback. IIRC, he was one of the last Dawkins recruits when the Dawkins ship was already taking on water and seemed pretty clear had already sailed (to mix nautical metaphors). Unfortunately, the Haase ship is start to seem similar... at least Tara seems likely to provide Stanford Basketball fans with something to be excited about...!
