Granted it's preseason, but ooof. The offense is not looking so hot.
Janeane 1 of 6 for zero yards and a pick. Should have been two picks, but the defender dropped the ball on what would have been a pick six. Very happy feet, reminiscent of Chris Everett of the Rams a couple decades or so ago.
Solly looks decent on D so far.

Kaden Smith with a nice catch on 3rd down.

OL looked TERRIBLE. Staley got beat by Bradley Chubb on almost every passing down.
It's clear just how much better Solly is inside than out. He had reps at both tonight.
Hogan in at QB for Denver now. Hasn't looked very good.

Jimmy G was certainly tentative and rusty.
Disagree re: Solomon Thomas. He gets off the line quickly, but is not fast enough or strong enough to win after that, as he is easily blocked on almost every snap.
Kevin Hogan now in at QB for Denver.

He was the leading tackler at one point. . . .

Last year’s 4th rd pick Kentavious Street and last year’s 7th rd pick Julian Taylor are better than Solomon Thomas based on what my eyes have seen.
Josh Garnett is another 49ers Stanford 1st rd pick heading to bust territory. Hard to imagine he is all of a sudden going to become a starting caliber Guard if he hasn’t become one yet.
Kaden Smith appears the best player the Niners have that they drafted from Stanford.

Wow, so weak.

As I said, he gets off the line quickly, but his route to the ball carrier is usually disrupted by a block and he isn’t fast enough to track guys down from behind. He’s better inside as Stanford fans know, but Solomon Thomas is an enigma as a DL because #3 picks are suppose to sack QBs and rack up many TFLs.
Maybe when he’s got Buckner, Ford, and Bosa on the field with him, Thomas will start producing as he was drafted. I want him to succeed but right now he is iron pyrite to me.

The Mercury News came out with their 49er highlights this morning, listing three studs and three duds. The lone defensive "stud" was Solomon Thomas:

BTW, arguably my favorite part of the game was P Wishnowsky's tackle of the Broncos returner. Looked like Andrew Luck taking down a USC linebacker:

Garnett has been hurt most of the time. OL is thin so he will probably stick.

Yup, saw that clip and was impressed.
By the way, the embeded youtube video doesn't play for me; it says it is blocked by the NFL.

Yeah, same here. The version below seems to work. I love how #57 pats him on the back like it happens every day and it's no big deal.

Hogan (weird seeing him as #9) had mixed results. He did not usually have much time to throw, to be honest. He had some good throws, and one or two great ones, some of which were dropped by receivers (one of them intercepted after it bounced off the receiver's hands). But he also had some bad throws, too, particularly on the last drive. Likely trying too hard to make something happen. As always, he showed his athleticism with his legs; scored a TD on one long scamper. But he's likely battling to stick as a third string as it seems Drew Lock is pegged as the backup.
